Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long does it take to create a site and have it
functional on the Internet? That depends upon a
number of factors, including the complexity of your needs,
availability of logos, copy, Web-ready photos, etc., inclusion of flash or other
special effects. Do you need a small site with only a few
pages, or many pages with e-commerce, etc.? A simple site can
be accomplished in a few weeks; more complicated sites will require
more time. An estimate of the time required to satisfy your
needs will be a part of our review of your needs and preferences.
2. Do you redesign existing sites?
Although it is possible to redesign an existing Web site, I prefer
to begin with a blank "canvas." Because of the complexity of
site design, it can be much more time-consuming and costly to
redesign a site than to begin at the beginning with a new site.
3. Why do Web site costs vary so much?
Costs vary depending on design complexity, flash and
"flashy" effects, copy writing requirements, custom graphic design
(e.g. logo creation), maintenance requirements, etc. I prefer
to design simple, stylish effective sites that will serve your needs
in the most cost-effective manner possible. My design
costs do not include domain name or
ISP services I can set those services up
for you, but the cost of them is not included in the design costs.
(A domain name costs about $35 per year, and a reliable ISP service
can range from $10 to $30 per month, depending on your needs.)
Your site will belong to you. You can choose to maintain it,
or, depending on your maintenance requirements, I can maintain it
for you on a monthly or quarterly fee basis.
