About
lvm Web Design
Linda V. Moorhouse
After serving as President and CEO of the
Canton (OH) Symphony Orchestra for 29 years, I relocated to
Naples, Florida in 2005. My interest in Web Site
design began when I recognized the need for the Orchestra to
have a presence on the Internet. The Orchestra's first
site was designed by an orchestra member with a great deal
of Web experience. I took over from
there and developed and maintained the site over a 7 year
period. As time allowed, I began to learn more about web
design and work with other
organizations to design their sites, including composer
Terry Mizesko,
visual artist
Rona
Steingart ,
Maddie-Pattie
Greetings and
Esprit Center of Naples.
Extensive administrative experience with non-profit
organizations has led me to choose not-for-profit groups as
a specialty area. An understanding of the operating
needs and constraints of non-profits provides a background
for customizing Web sites to serve each group's needs.
During my active years in Orchestra management, I have
served as a board member of the American Symphony
Orchestra League, President of the Metropolitan Orchestra
Managers Association, President of the Organization of Ohio
Orchestras, President and Chairman of the Board of the
Canton Palace Theatre Association.
Currently a volunteer for Literacy Volunteers of Collier
County and the The
Conservancy of Southwest Florida, I am also a board
member of the
Neotropical
Grassland Conservancy. Previously a volunteer for
the Arthritis Foundation of Stark County, Leadership Stark
County, and United Way of Central Stark County, I was a
member of the Site Committee of the
National First Ladies
Library and served as a docent for that organization. I
received the Soroptimist International Woman of Distinction
Award and am a charter member of the Stark County Women's
Hall of Fame.
